Nothing says summer like a cold sweet treat on a hot sunny day. Luckily, we have several locations around Montgomery County to help cool you down.
If you are finding yourself enjoying the unique gems of Montgomery County in the summer, then you need to find yourself a nice spot to cool down with a frozen treat. Here are some of the best places to treat yourself!
“Home of the Cone with the Cherry on Top” was a dream that began during WWII. It wasn’t until in the 1960s that this dream came to life and has been Montgomery County’s most favorite and more nostalgic restaurant. Not only do they offer ice cream and milkshakes, but have a full food menu that you can enjoy at one of their picnic tables, or under the shade at Turtle Park next door. A favorite are their flavored cokes!
Do keep in mind that Dari-Licious only has outside seating and a drive thru.
The Big Dipper Ice Cream Parlor is a family favorite located next to Montgomery County’s Milligan Park. Grab an ice cream cone or a sherbet cone and sit under a shade tree. The Big Dipper also offers a variety of hot good items such as tenderloins, broccoli bites, and pulled pork nachos.
They offer outside seating at a picnic table and drive through is available.
The Lindy Freeze would be a great place to stop on your way to or on your way home from Purdue University. It is located right off of 231 in Linden, IN. Those who live in Linden have just a short walk to enjoy a sweet treat. They also have taco salads, chili dogs and soft serve sherbet along with other food items on their menu.
The Lindy Freeze offers outside seating under their awning with picnic tables or you may have a seat at the park.
You can also enjoy wonderful hand dipped ice-cream at the Emporium 109 located in Ladoga, IN, and The Country Dollar Store in Waveland, IN.
