Get familiar with your local PYOP (Paint Your Own Pottery) Studio right here in Crawfordsville at the Tannenbaum Cultural Center! Ceramic painting is a good way to personalize gifts and your space! Living features such as lighting, useful items like plates, cups, bowls, or decorative items for the garden – we have hundreds of different pieces to choose from!All proceeds from ceramic classes directly support the Rotary Jail Museum, Tannenbaum Cultural Center! The dollars stay right here, we are NOT a “chain location”, and this facility is NOT investor funded. Your participation makes a significant local impact that touch the lives of not only the staff and volunteers, but also local community members who enjoy the local arts and culture community we provide. We host special events for holidays and specific times during the year, but our classes are held WEEKLY – ALL YEAR.
In talking with community members, we are always meeting new customers who were completely unfamiliar with our program – which is amazing! We have been hosting the program for a decade! We’re here, weekly, on a schedule. Our prices are transparent, our atmosphere is inclusive and gauged to meet the needs of our rural community. We set prices to be inclusive for average individuals and families, but also seniors, and those living on a fixed income.
Our prices are all inclusive for your item, paint/glaze, and firing. We also allow you to leave your items and return to work on them if they are too complicated or detailed to complete in a single visit, and we provide guidance in expanding your skills.
Come see what we have to offer! We’re here every Thursday and Friday 5-9 p.m. all year (unless something crazy happens like a loose squirrel in the building…. yes it happened)! In the event of a closure, we will post it here. Additionally, in January and February we will be open on Mondays. Also check this page for special events that include some Saturdays and Sundays!
