Lecture on the Importance of Preserving Black History and Historical Sites
The lecture will be given by Indiana Landmarks Director of the Black Heritage Preservation Program, Eunice Trotter. Trotter was the first Black editor of the Indianapolis Star and former editor and owner of The Indianapolis Recorder, one of the oldest African American newspapers in the United States. Indiana Landmarks is a nationally-known nonprofit organization focused on historical preservation of buildings, sites, and communities.
The free, public lecture will take place in the Lovell Lecture Room (Room 101) in Baxter Hall on the Wabash College campus. The auditorium-style lecture hall can be found on the first floor of Baxter Hall directly inside the main entrance. For parking closest to Baxter Hall, the Center Hall parking lot is off of South Grant Avenue and the Martindale Residence Hall parking lot is on Martindale Drive. Accessible parking is available at Center Hall, and there is one additional accessible space on the campus mall off of West Wabash Avenue.
