ARTIST STATEMENT:
*My first MEMORY of being an artist…
Kindergarten art brought home to show Mom and Dad…Outline of a horse colored with brown crayon most likely to learn “Hh”…
My dad was approving and offered a suggestion… if I colored with the crayon in the direction that the hair grew on the horse, it would look REAL!!!
My dad has passed away, and I HOPE that he knows how much those simple words of encouragement changed my life forever. That was the first defining moment for me, as an artist.
I have often thought that it would be fun to try other painting techniques, but I can never turn off my excitement and fascination for the tiniest and often overlooked details. I must paint them!!!
These details are everywhere and they help tell the STORIES. Look for them and listen for your own stories.

I will be setting up my easel and painting in the gallery during regular gallery hours from February 8 – March 9. Stop in to chat and share stories.
Watch for progress on new paintings to be displayed in the front window. Please contact me to make arrangements if you would like to come at another time.
