Tour the study where General Lew Wallace wrote one of the most famous novels in history, Ben-Hur. See and touch actual WWII armored vehicles, tanks and weaponry at the Ropkey Armor Museum. For railroad buffs, visit the oldest intact junction depot in Indiana, the Linden Railroad Museum.

The Tannenbaum Cultural Center is a new addition for the Rotary Jail Museum offering an art center and multipurpose facility. The center features meeting spaces, a catering kitchen and two kilns.
Montgomery County offers a broad array of shopping options. Visit Crawfordsville, a true walking downtown, and browse specialty shops and retail establishments. Do you enjoy a round of golf or hiking a trail in peaceful woods? Montgomery County is the place to be! Shades State Park and Pine Hills Nature Preserve feature sandstone cliffs overlooking Sugar Creek and challenging hiking. Devil’s Backbone in Pine Hills is a 7 foot wide ridge 100 feet above two creeks.
Lake Waveland Park offers a 360-acre lake for boating, swimming, and fishing. The park includes modern and primitive campsites, miniature golf, horse shoe pits, and more. Bachner Nature Preserve on Offield Monument Road serves as a wildlife habitat and canoe launch. Crawfordsville Park and Recreation offers a variety of opportunities for outdoor recreation, from the Sugar Creek Rail Trail to Milligan Park with playgrounds and a skate park. Elston Park has 3 softball diamonds.
